World Pyro Olympics 2009

The World Pyro Olympics is moving to a new location which means that this year it will have new rules, new shows, new effects and new participants

This year, the World Pyro Olympics is packing up and moving to Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City. The competition for this year is already looking promising because, this year it will be a pyromusical competition. Each of the 10 shows that will be presented are going to be synchronized to music and is now worthy to be called a Pyromusical. As promising as the competitions is, the list of participants this year can only tell us that the World Pyro Olympics 2009 will only bring up the competition to a much higher level. This year’s schedule is as follows:

14 November – Korea and USA
21 November – Germany and China
28 November – Japan and Australia
05 December – Canada and Italy
12 December – Highlights from the participants — La Mancha Group International (closing display)

We should watch how Parente will try to defend their title as The Champions and at the same time we must watch out how the other participants try to get the most coveted World Pyro Olympics trophy. I’m sure that the shows this year will be much complex than the show’s we’ve seen in the past. Since they moved the competition in The fort we must expect a wider firing pad and ofcourse more one shots (I Wish). Da Nang International Fireworks Competition 2009

Next year the Philippines will be joining another big fireworks competition. This time it’s Dragon Fireworks’ turn to show its prowess when it comes to pyromusicals! They will be joining the Da Nang Fireworks Competition in Vietnam. This event is set on the 27th and 28th of March 2009. Here are the participating countries and firms. Each show will last for about 20 minutes and must within the them “Echoes in Han River”.

Spain – Zamorano Caballer
Vietnam – (Military Service Fireworks)

This one’s a great opportunity for Dragon to show their skills

Macau Fireworks Competition Results

So the macau fireworks competition has also ended here’s the winners list!

1st – Brezac Artifice – France

2nd – Tamaya Arts – Japan

3rd – Wan Dar Fireworks – Taiwan

Due to technical problems, and a lost of 1 day for set up, philippines team wasn’t able to show their intended piece. Even though this happened, (through videos in youtube) their show was already great!

L’International Des Feux Loto-Quebec 2008 Themes

As you all know I’m a big fan of this competition so here i present to you the themes for each participating country in this years’ international des feux loto-quebec in La ronder, Montreal, Canada.

So everyone enjoy the competition. I think that it’s gonna be a tough competition this year with all the interesting themes. Atleast two of those shows, i already have an idea on how it could look like..

And the winner is……..

So the World Pyro Olympics 2008 ended with an almost perfect weather! The only bad thing was that the wind was blowing everywhere so obviously there was smoke everywhere too haha!! Too bad cause the sound system was destroyed which removed the pyromusical feeling of the last show! good thing that some of the tracks were still hearable from where i was!

At first the audio was perfect but when the winner was about to be announced the speakers just stopped working so we were all asking each other who?? hahhaa!! But Some people were able to hear it and the winner was Italy’s Parente fireworks my favorite!

Hannover Fireworks Competition 2008

This year La Mancha Pyro Productions will be showing their pyromusical proness in the Hannover Fireworks Competition. They will be going against France, Canada, Portugal, and Denmark. As of now I’m not sure of what kind of pyromusical they will be showing but I’m sure that it must be one hell a lot of Pyromusical if they want to win. I’ve been looking forward to this competition every year! To my surprise Philippines will be joining! yehey! For those of you who thinks that we’ve got incompetent fireworks you might want to think again! Last year’s winner of this competition was Macedos Pirotecnia of Portugal. Before that Pyrotechnic yard of peterhof, Russia (2006), Fuegos Artificiales Jupiter, Argentina (2005) and Goteborg Fyverkeri, Sweden won the title for three consecutive years 2002, 2003, 2004. Will it be their time to shine this year?? we’ll see again! This year’s music that should be used by all contestant is storm – Vanessa Mae.

Rollercoaster Tycoon 3

For most people, this is just a normal game that lets you build you own theme park but for us pyro minded people this game has created a function that most pyrotechnicians need. This is the mixmaster, it lets you create fireworks displays by just drag and dropping different fireworks effects. it also lets you create your own fireworks effects but it’s not the easiest for making fireworks effects. There’s an online community that gives out different custom fireworks effects for the game and this is rctpyro.com and soon to be vpyro.com or the virtual pyrotechnics website. Together with Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 mixmaster it would also feature some other fireworks simulators like showsim and the fireworks creator. I love creating fireworks displays using rollercoaster tycoon. Here i will show one of my favorite display that i made. This show has no definite title hehe! it uses the song made for the winter olympics by david foster. The fireworks effects here was all made by sjoelie i hope that you’ll like my small pyromusical show!
